This is the Effector 13 JP that I own. Super simple... Just lowers your volume. If you use it wisely it's MASSIVELY useful.

On certain settings it doesn't stray too far from an NYC muff, but the wicker does sound slightly different. The price point is still really low for such a classic sounding pedal, and worth it for the flexibility of the tone bypass/wicker. Still, I think i'd rather have a musket if I were going for a muff fuzz...anyone pull the trigger on the buy one get one half off over at blackout?

I'll second that comment. I didn't realize to what extent it would come in handy until I actually bought one of the JP artifacts. Now I've got it sitting in between my Hype and my US.

The Hype provides sustain for days, and by using the JP to switch the input level to the US I can instantly swap between kicking in the US for scorching over-the-top stacked fuzz, or gated zippery velcro fuzz.

It was yet another great idea of Devi's -- a pedal that makes your existing pedals better.
