Software for making gear demos ???

Tue Jul 17, 2012 11:03 am

Ok, the McSpunckle tourbox is almost in my sweaty hands. But ah... how do I make demos?

I've got:

A Macbook
Logic
Decent mic
Camera that can do video in HD

What I don't understand:
1. I can record audio to Logic, no probs. I can record a video with my camera. What program should I use to sync the audio and video and to make flashy little cut scenes like Kayzer does? I'd prefer to use something that either comes with a Mac or is like cheap and stuff. Because I am cheap. And stuff.
2. Youtube. Do I need to think about bit rates and all that at this stage, or does YT handle all that when I upload shit?

I promise to only play terribly failed attempts at Stevie Ray Vaughn licks on all pedals demoed.

1.) u can use imovie, that comes free w/ most macs, u probably have it

2.) this is a great guideline on what settings to use to make your video/audio look/sound its best on the internet.
http://vimeo.com/help/compression
its from vimeo, but it works the same for youtube. i use these settings for all my videos.

As an Austinite I'm going to hold you to this...

Also all Sherm's demos look cool so do whatever he said...

Sweet, thanks Dr Sticks!

- going to check out his demos tonight Sonidero, sounds promising. I loves me some SRV. On the other hand I hate people who aren't SRV doing SRV. Especially on demos.

I use Adobe Premiere and AfterFX, but that's WAY more than most people use or need.

imovie is probably the simplest.

2 votes for imovie, I'll have to check it out. Gotta love being so computer literate...
