On the bottom there's a serial. Mine is I believe something like 7A-......, which means it's from '77. All described in this post.

And BTW, one of the most awesome and loudest amps ever. Period. Did an outdoor gig with it a year back or so and the volume didn't even have to go past 15%.

Recapped with big blue F&Ts, adjustable bias added, splashiest damn reverb I've ever heard.

I'd hit it.

The only issue with this ridiculous mountain of crap is that I can't fit the fridge cab + my wife in the Jeep at the same time. So I have to choose one or the other for gigs.

I've had the cab for a bout a month and was rocking a Classic 50 head, but finally got my CR120 about two weeks ago. The more I play it, the more i like it. I wasn't sure about the dirty channel, but have found a setting i like. Still, mostly running pedals into the clean channel.

Also, the little 1974 Champ is still kicking all sorts of ass, especially after the recap and WGS speaker.

I've got the head version, great amp. What's your speaker complement?

Jensen C12Q. A lot of people say to put a Celestion in the YGM3 but, open-backed with the Jensen in, it's really Fendery and destroys every DRRI I've tried.

Just got this today. I think it's a '69.

Been rebuilt/restored. Has some fancy speakers.. really should have taken note.. 2x80W 8ohm I think.. They sound great anywho. I even had a friend's stock '72 Twin to compare it with. I'm no expert (always been a player of crappy amps) but perhaps it's the difference between new an old speakers. The '72 was a bit more shapeless when it was driven and had much less headroom. I guess I could wire the cabs backwards and find out!

It looks like it has a Master Volume which would put it after about 1972?
