What's the deal with Jansen stuff? I'd love to own some of it, but I've NEVER seen any of it pop up in the US. Are they fairly collectible/desirable where you're at? 'Cuz 2,200 bones seems like a lot...

def that.

i like mine alot, it records really well... has those flat gibson frets from the period but i have no problem with them...it just feels different from most gibsons. i looked arund for about 2 years before i finally got one. 675...seems on the high side and i think you could get one cheaper if you wait and watch.
i want to get a S1 next and have already started that search....but i'll have to get a maple neck on it. what a pair of ugly ducks.

the one i had had the best neck ever. all the paint had been stripped over time. yummmers.

There are far nicer Jansen guitars than that one (offsets too)

NZ couldn't import guitars in the 60's so Jansen got in on it. You can buy them cheaper in NZ now, but they rarely come up for auction.

Yes, one is in the Te Papa "museum" - which is more of a interactive museum, but its in storage never to see the light of day along with stackloads of nz made items (don't let the museum tagline fool ya).

They made great amps too, the old ones.
