Always liked their aesthetic, very science-ey.

Thanks! You should see all the old scientific equipment we have lying around the lab - Todd is a collector. The color scheme/look is also inspired by early Maestro and Mu-Tron, whose effects we adore.

@Chankgeez - we don't have a box for it yet and haven't finalized any of its features. Reserve one if you love the AD4096 and want to make sure you'll be first in line to pre-order - we expect a very long waitlist for this pedal, as we have several hundred standing orders with dealers alone.

You can look at a prototype AD4096 that has some of the features that might go onto the new version, but it basically looks like the old one with more switches on it. The new one will be similar to the Spectravibe, in a custom bent box with custom knobs.

Long wait list is good for both you and me.

It'll take me a long time to save up for the pedal.

Hopefully you can get through all your orders in a timely fashion and have one ready for me when I've scraped up the dough.

@chankgeez - signing up for the list doesn't obligate you to buy one before you're ready - it's mostly just to keep in touch about new updates and also for us to get an idea of how many people want :)

I think I might ditch my moog for one of these, I've always wanted one but the lack of LFO always got to me. Although now-a-days I learned the amount of modulation I actually use it almost nill haha. Plus I don't like how high value my damn Moog is getting I hate having such expensive equipment to play in goofy bands haha

Has anyone installed the upgrade board in their AD4096 yet? I'm about to do mine but there's been an issue with the add-on PCB (easy enough to fix with a jumper lead) and you need to cut a trace on the delay PCB so reversing the mod isn't as trivial as it otherwise might be. I know it's going to change the sound a little as well as adding delay time and I'll be bummed if I don't like what it does.

will the new one sound as good as the old one? I saw somewhere that the longer delay time does change the character a bit.

i had one of the old ones, but stupidly sold it. it is the only delay pedal i've ever loved.

IMHO Todd was exaggerating when he said that the upgrade changes the sound. It kinda *sorta* does, but if we had never told anyone that it does, no one would have known the difference. I think it sounds better - the glitter is still there, just tamed a little.

If you go back a ways in our Instagram you'll find 800ms sound demos - this one shows you that the essential characteristic of the pedal is unchanged.

We've got a couple prototype AD4096's up for $425 (with coupon) right now if people are interested - these have most of the features that will come on the new delay (not all though). They're basically retrofitted old AD4096s with 800ms of delay time and some fancy extra switches that we're keeping on the downlow until official release. If you buy one you'll get a little card telling you how to use them though!

https://reverb.com/shop/centurysoundlabs

The retail price is at $500 so that the 15% sale brings it down to $425, but once the sale is done I'll just adjust the price down to $425. For the production pedals we're shooting for somewhere in the $300 range - these just take a lot of extra time since they have extra wiring and hole drilling - also, they're prototypes and they're unique! Selling these is helping fund the new AD4096 release, so buying one will help everyone out! ;)
