definitely looks fun but not quite a whole package on its own. I know it is a whole synth. but the feature set just feels mildly incomplete without patching in some other things

Outgoing: that Legator Ghost headless guitar that I posted about somewhere. Going to an old acquaintance who reviews gear on YouTube now. :idk:

I've finally watched a video of one - I think I'll modify one of my guitars to try it out :)

I've got the tools to do it, so it's got to be worth a try, I think it'll be on my Westone Thunder 1-A which was found in a skip and now has P90 / Mini H / Mini H in it (and no -A).

Or maybe my Charvette which is tuned down C to C and has an old Kahler and locking nut fitted.

One or the other, anyway !

cool! :snax: I suppose it's simple enough to cut the slots in this arrangement, I mean they're just going for quarter tones (which is cool). Some of the intonation schemes in non-western music are pretty complex comparatively, but being able to consistently hit quarter-tones should be pretty inspiring.... :thumb:

I've thought about tying moveable "frets" on a fretless to train my ear to hear some of these intervals better

It's not too hard when you've done a few - I put frets on a viola for someone once, this will be much easier :)

There are only 7 extra frets on the Marrakesh, and plenty of online fret position calculators to help locate them in the right place - I've just worked out the positions for the Westone and I may well do it tomorrow - if I don't it could be months and months before I remember ;)

Why'd you get rid of the subharmonicon?

Honestly, I just really haven't used it or been able to work it into my set up. The only thing it really gave me that I didn't have with the rest of my setup was the sequencer, which was really fun to mess with, but a 4 note sequence is a little to short and it really wasn't worth having so much money wrapped up in a somewhat underwhelming sequencer :idk:

It is a great synth, though. I could see myself buying one again in the future; I still think a 3-tier Moog rack with a Subharmonicon, DFAM, and Mother 32 would be awesome.

Hmm for some reason I thought you had the dfam and mother already. The sub looks cool in a lot of the demos I've seen but yeah, I would definitely wanna pair it up with the other 2.

I have had both in the past, but ended up selling them both to focus on eurorack, and then I also got rid of all my eurorack. Current synths are Matriarch, DX7, Organelle, and Digitakt

Yeah, that's really what it came down to for me. It couldn't really stand on it's own, but it wasn't adding enough to the other synths for me to keep it.

Man, this would be super awesome! I considered doing it myself, but I really am not confident I could pull it off.

So if I enjoy the Marrakesh, I might have to mod an acoustic now too:

I'd love if all the pedals on my board looked like that... but the idea of relicing pedals seems dumber than relicing fenders..

There must be an IG filter for that.

hahaha I don't think so yet. Yes relicing pedals seems even more perverse than guitars...
