I should have bought a Fire when they were $100 recently...though I'm currently building a BeeBaa to compare to my original. We'll see how it stacks up.

I covet your original AF-100, which is a version I have yet to try. Someone once told me about a Japanese auction site where OG Bee Baas sometimes sell for more reasonable prices. Maxon will probably have a Memorial Day sale if you're looking for a cheaper Fire. I almost grabbed a 2nd one when they were under $90 new on Amazon.

ck3 wrote:The only variants with boosts I've tried are the original Barge Concepts BB-1, Super Electric Bee Baby, and Black Cat Bee Buzz, all of which seemed to accentuate different frequencies. The fuzz function has always appealed to me more, probably because I never had an opportunity to hit t00bz with any of the aforementioned boosts.
