Hm, I might give it another go then. I only played it for a pretty short while, it seemed strange, almost as if something was wrong with it. Maybe I will love it too if I give it a longer spin. I think it was kind of cheap for the standards around here and in a real store.
I got a Roost instead, and I love that to pieces, so I guess there was nothing wrong with my decision, but I might just try it again.

Listening to 'photograph' right now. I like it.

Thanks!

WEM are actually, esp the early stuff, classic amps... the main thing that lets them down is their enclosures... I would happily put them up against most vintage clean tones, at any price... at least some of them.. they're kinda a sleeper, like Selmer used to be... Back in the 70s a lot of folks, like Gilmour, had WEM stuff, Gilmour used WEM cabinets for a decade.. in the early 90s folks like Oasis used them, when they started out, because they couldn't afford vintage Vox, and the WEM got them beautiful vintage clean tones for a fraction of the price...

Like many things amps, just like pedals, are all about what's "hot" at any given moment... I bought the WEM for 300 euro, just a few weeks ago I saw on in NYC for 1200 euro... ;)

I think that I've simply got a good deal on something that, in ten years, people will be clambering for... same goes for the 60s/early 70s Carlsbros... handwired, many with Partridge trannies, brilliant contruction quality, and ... if you know who to ask... better tone than 85% of Hiwatt/Marshalls out there... I recently had someone from a very big Irish band offer to trade me a customised OR120 head for the Carl... when I said no, he offered me the head AND cash... I still have the Carl ;)

When people see the amps they are sceptical, when they HEAR them, they're blown away.

:D

I sold an AC30, which was pretty darn mediocre, and bought both of these and had cash left over...

What kind of music do you do? Links?

if you get a chance to try one do so, the tube midget is a little more "bottom end" then the mig...
its kinda like a JCM900 w/ bassman overdrive

the migs are more straight up evil i'm still on the look out for a mig 50 or 100 though..

Needed a guitar amp as using the Ampeg B50 was exactly conducive to playing in an apartment. Played a bunch of the mini lunch box style amps and really liked the Vox stuff. Found a B stock Lil Night Train and a used V112NT with a Celestion Greenback. I really liked the Regular Night Train amp, but I knew it would be too much. This thing can still get too loud for the apartment if I let it, but it sounds good at low volume. Will suffice perfectly for what I'm doing. The headphone out is cool too. Its so cute!

Also, took the time to rearrange my "Practice Room". I don't know why I didn't do this sooner, I actually have much more space in here right now.

I saw this picture of Hendrix, all he used was a wah.... And not even the Jim Dunlop Jimi Hedrix wah, just some old thing.....
Jimi didn't realise the horrible tone suck we had to listen to every time he used that wah.

I think this is the first time I've seen your full bass rig Jeff,...How are you running that setup?

Still rocking this old Stereo Ampeg SVP-1500 pumped by a Yamaha PB-1 into an Avatar B410 Neo and an Old Tolex Era Kustom 2x15. Both cabs are four ohms and I'm pushing a total of about 900 watts. I got a handle on my EQ,...pumped some mids and it get's loud as fuck with head room to spare.

The guitarist in Mecha Shiva uses that same Amp paired with a newer (with just black grill cloth) Vox cab. Running with an SSS Strat it is super bright and clean ,...but pumped with Disto,...+1 it's got balls.

I can't really speak much about it since it's not mine. I know it's an import model,...

All the guitar toanz you hear on the Mecha Shiva recording in my sig were done with that amp.

It's an AC50 and has worked for Ryan Leeds without fail for more than a year and a half. The lead channel is pretty noisy, but that could be a result of him running a Strat and other environmental factors. As a result his main distortion tone is a RAT.
