Lil' Looper

Post by Bellyheart »

So the dynamic looper was a good idea but had a load of buttshit in it for all the mother gushers to be as masturbatory as possible. It looks like they've refined the looper and it still has the cool loop parts to it sans expression pedal and most the effects. Still no stereo out and I haven't seen someone demonstrate the independent loop feature, but I don't think the classic rockers really know what to do with it when asked to demo it other than another loop on time. I wanna see a polyrhythm. Considering the price point of the Dynamic Looper this should be very obtanium.

if you can do two loops of different lengths this is definitely relevant to my interests.

The easy-to-use design, solid footswitches, versatile effects, and layering loops are ideal for guitarists who want to break new ground in looped performances or who seeks new expressive power. Lil' Looper offers the additional convenience of being compact, lightweight, and battery operated. A balanced Mic input allows any mic’ed instrument – or even a vocalist – to enjoy the sonic power of the Lil’ Looper right away!

Two Independent Loops

You can record each of the two loops separately, and instantly create complex and original performances by switching between different chord patterns or phrases of differing length. The Loop Quantize feature lets you create phrases that precisely match the same time signature and tempo.

Onboard Effects

In addition to familiar effects such as distortion, compressor, phaser, and chorus, the Lil’ Looper also offers effects that simulate an acoustic guitar or bass, for a total of twelve types. These include not only effects designed for guitar, but also some designed for use with a Microphone, allowing you use to the Lil' Looper for any Mic performance as well.

Compact & Convenient

The Lil' Looper is compact, battery operated, and provides a handy headphone output, so it’s simple to create and enjoy loop performances anywhere. Easy to transport, it's ideal not only on stage but also for having fun playing loops at home, or even for practicing.

Optional VFS2 footswitch

Using the optional VFS2 footswitch offers extended hands-free control of the Lil’ Looper; use it to switch effects, play or stop loops, or erase phrases.

I'm surprised the total looping time is so short... Other than that this looks pretty cool! I wish the M9 looper had some sort of quantized function.

The video here doesn't really demo the pedal, but explains things well...http://www.sonicstate.com/amped/2012/03 ... le-looper/

I had the dynamic looper for a while, but found I didn't use most of the extra gibberish. I actually sold it to buy an rc-3, but never did. Looks like I might pick one of these up though.

Really? A minute and a half isn't enough time? That's crazy. I imagine it's 90 seconds shared however infinite layers on each loop. I'm confused about the quantization thing.

I'm not sure if it's switchable or on always. Jero can you elaborate on that part?

90 seconds divided into two loops of independent length is more than i have with my setup now.

the demo guy seems to say that the quantization function is switched on/off by the Metronome button and will clip phrases that are over beat length. check the video at 6:06; he responds to a almost-inaudible question.

It's 90 seconds combined, which is plenty for me. From what I remember, the quantize is as dubkitty said. Only works in metronome modes.

i've always been an advocate of Moar Delay and Loop Time, but i've found in practice that maxing the 40s loop time on the Flashback can lead to improvisations of an unwieldy length once you get a fair number of layers built up. this strikes me as potentially being a single-box replacement for the rather unwieldy two-delay looper setup i've cobbled together. the ability to run it out to 90s as a single loop opens up a whole nother realm, especially if i used it on an A/B/C switch with the other delays bwaa haa haa.
