There's no reason not to have the bass mod. I have a two stomp ABSynth with a toggle for the mod. The difference is more obvious when I play guitar in bass mode than vice versa, as the signal jumps around a bit more. My fave instrument right now is my univox hi-flier bass with P90's. Its short scale and the strings were kinda floppy so I put super thin bass strings on it and tuned it up a 5th so it sounds kinda like a baritone guitar. I'm really having a blast using it to get monster synth bass.
