White Spider demo!

Postby FuzzHugger » Fri Dec 18, 2009 3:49 am

Just put a demo up!

The new White Spider is a gain monster (and surprisingly low noise)!

--Mode One (left footswitch) activates the main fuzz, a muffy fuzz that's controllable with the Fuzz knob.

--Mode Two (both footswitches) activates the second fuzz mode, a higher gain, crunchy fuzz with lots of overtones! It brings in the Gain and Boost controls.
--The Gain knob controls the level of additional gain and crunch being heaped on.
--The Boost control is like hitting the main fuzz with a clean boost...it increases sear/sizzle, increases response, and gain!

Im gonna say it's one of the the BEST TP variation out there.

In the demo the TP side is less noisy than my old version WS.

The new volume knob on 05 side can keep the input signal down, making TP less compressed = sound huge, with sparkle added from 05's own gain. My friend modded mine to have a input volume on TP side, but I believe a proper volume knob on 05 would work better. It is at least in the demo.

One thing is that not many people know cranking every control on WS makes it a gated fuzz. Weird but it IS gated and almost silent when not playing, and giving the most clear and crunch fuzz nothing can come close when playing. I'm not sure whether the new one can do this gated sound, but there's no reason it couldn't.

I am just so happy that one of my favorite DE fuzzes comes back and with a more user-friendly "knob" on there.

That's fantastic Tom !

I've always dreamed of a fuzz that can cut through a busy mix and doesn't turn complex chords with droning open strings into mud (even if that's useful too sometimes), The TP side on the ShoeGazer I owned was the closest I found but it seems that this new White Spider is IT !
...and that boost that make the TP even crunchier, that's :omg:

I can't wait to receive my custom painted one. :animal:
(btw, I hope you received my payment for the WS + ABsynth)

I remember you once said something about trying to make both sides independent (05 works even if TP isn't on), is it possible to order one in such a configuration?
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

If Devi's cool with it, I could do it no problem!
