What happened to the old Hugger?

Has it evolved into something else or been replaced?

I think they became special order only. Was a fx loop with pre and post boost. Good stuff. Sexy too.

Had one. Was super handy for sure. Tom would probably whip you one up I bet.

Had a lot of fun painting those Huggers...
Had to go back and look over them.

I'm not really set up to build these (well, not quickly) but I do have the parts...I'm sure I could work out some kind of special order. I've thought about getting a new PCB to make these easier to build, but I don't know what the interest would be.

I think this is the sort of thing you don't realize how great it is until you have one. Ability to control loop volume is awesome as well. I built a 5 channel looper box with seperate volumes for each channel and its just about the greatest thing ever. really cuts down on the tap dancing.

Good to know that it's still available. That's my Hugger at the top. She's great.

At some point, when Tom re-worked the circuit after the original run and Bear Hug Boost and all that, the Hugger was briefly called Vice Grip. I have one of them, don't know if there are many of them.

What are the switches for on these? Did it change texture?

Vice Grip looks exactly the same as the Hugger. The pre-boost is clean, tight high end verging on overdrive, big bottom: excellent to drive the shit out of Your analog delay for example, if You're into that, or boost the mundane overdrive pedals into something huge. The post boost is cleaner, plain volume boost.
