Algal bloom is so good

Postby goosekevin » Wed Jan 09, 2013 3:41 am

I just got an algal bloom in the mail and it is fast becoming my favourite pedal ever
It rides the line between thick and dynamic beautifully, the finish is gorgeous and it has no bad settings

Kudos to you mr dalton

Fuck yeah! Which finish you got? Lately I've been loving the alga bloom post reverb and delay for ragged toanz, it's sick.

Yep, the Algal Bloom is sick indeed, a very unique sounding fuzz! I had one years ago, sold it like an idiot, and recently reacquired a new one with sexy new finish plus bass and choke mods. SO GOOD!

Got the ILF2012 FUZZ/Lab Ratchet at the same time and it's crazy badass too!

Here they be.

I got the purpley one with the lady on it, the prototype finish apparently, so on the cheaps! I wanna buy like 20 algal just to have them at different points in the chain
Stacks great with a fuck too! Well have to try after reverb, I have never really been a fan but the algal could change that

Yeah I've been seriously considering adding a bass version to my normal for a whiiiiile. It'll probably happen eventually!

I traded for one and Tom said he'd bass mod it for me. Can't wait. Good guy.

Now that I have played with mine for a while I can only say YES! It is indeed AWESOME! TOANZ! I'm glad I got the one with the choke toggle.. VERSATILITY!
Is it normal that it has a fairly low output? It's not even half the volume of my Musket when fully cranked...

I had this pedal briefly and didn't even get to play it. Had to sell due to finacial hardships. Really want to get another some day. Specially if Mr. Dalton makes one with top mount jacks cause as far as I know they are all side mount.

I've made them with top-mounted jacks before...just one of those "email me" options. :)

Tom can also make a very nice aged cheddar and basil grilled cheese but that's an email option... :snax:

The basil is from a local farmers' market.
And running a semi-secret restaurant where people pay what they want and also get stoned before eating is my dream-job #2. I've got the menu 95% finished.
