New Algal Bloom video demo!

Postby FuzzHugger » Mon Oct 01, 2012 1:09 am

I suggest good speakers or good headphones!

Even used my non-existent drop-d skills for some semibroots!

Fuzzhugger disclaimers are my favourite kind of disclaimers! ;)

If there's one thing (and there are many) that sets the Algal Bloom apart from all of its competitors, it's the amazing clarity you get even with super-fuzzy settings. There's nothing like cramming out a powerchord and then janging some trebly open string notes over the top of the fuzz.

Excellent!

The thing that always amazes me is that everyone playing the algal bloom seems to sound different, myself included.

Yeah I was listening to this really confused because I swear mine does not sound like that! Still sounds awesome, it's just a hella versatile pedal.

 That drop d stuff was: Gain far right, Bloom between 12 & 3 o'clock, Starve far left.

Firebird neck pickup. 3/5 watt tube amp with a 12" speaker. It was recorded with a condenser in front of the amp, so this recording might come across a tiny bit less airy than the way it sounded in the room... But this demo sounds way better on good headphones than through my laptop speakers.
