This is...inspiringly beautiful.

All right - so I've had some time to play with this through my amp, and DAMN does it deliver! I'm stoked that Tom was able to get the sound from my head so perfectly into a pedal: essentially, I can use the Huger side to crank out muff-esque bass-heavy sheets of fuzz, and then dial in the Ratchet side to regain articulation and attack without having to worry about any of those pesky "clean tones." To me, this is what a bass fuzz should be - yes there are lows, yes there is the ability to sit in or cut through a mix, yes there is articulate response, but it is ALL FUZZ.

I've a/b'd this against a number of my other gaintastic fuzzes, and none of them get me this sound so perfectly. This is not to diss on ANY OTHER builders - they are all wonderful boxes, and I still want them all. But I feel safe saying that I've finally achieved one of my ideal fuzz tones after all these years. Quite possibly my primary fuzz tone from here on out.

For what it's worth, since I don't know if Tom is willing to ever do this parallel combo setup again, I can't say enough good things about The Huger. It is a beast of a pedal on its own, and deserves WAY more attention than it gets. Tom gave me a switch to choose between silicon and LED clipping, and I love the LED side. Dunno if that's something Tom is willing to offer as a standard option, but I highly recommend it, especially for bass players. In my setup, the LED option really tightened up the bottom-end attack without losing any lows.
