First Fuzzhugger(fx) pedal: Help please!!

Postby fungalattack » Thu Mar 08, 2012 6:02 pm

Hello everybody. I am new here and well I am here for the same reason you all are here I love fuzz!!! I am in a sludgey, doomy, and at times drone band and I started reading about how awesome fuzzhuggers are and how awesome Tom is, so why not see for myself!! When I heard the HUGER, I actually almost started crying because of how good the tone was. I know everyone has different ideas in there head of the perfect fuzz tone but it truly blew me away. The AB synth and algal bloom also were quite stunning. If I had the money I would buy the algal bloom, the ab synth and the HUGER but as of know I don't have the funds since I am saving up for a sexy tube amp. I have been working my butt off so why not spend most of it (or all) on music equipment. I am looking for a pedal with heavy low-end for sloooooow and menacing riffs but also the capability to do some gnarly, biting trebly tones (similar to the tone of "I wanna be your dog" by the Stooges). I also want to have the option of having clear articulate notes for palm muting but also the option of noisy, dirty almost indecipherable notes. I do have a muff, metal muff and a devi destructo noctavia for some stacking options. If you had to choose one pedal to start with, what would you recommend? As I said I am leaning for the HUGER, but I am open to another option. All input is appreciated. Keep it fuzzy yall!!! :p

Thanks Tom! Do you think I can get close to that nasty fuzz tone of The Stooges with the HUGER? Also, where should I order it from? Should I email you directly or through another site?

Yeah, you can get nasty with it...crank the Fuzz knob, or/and crank some highs in Tone-on mode. :animal: :thumb:

It's out of production, and I don't have any left, so I'd check another store (unless you wanna go custom).

Prymaxe has these in stock:

Pro Guitar Shop both of these (you might need to ask for the red one):

Fungalattack you made the right call! The huger is massive and rather versitle! I tend to turn off the tone stack when stacking it with other fuzz! :thumb:

So my brand new Fuzzhuger is sitting at home and I haven't tried it yet and I am dying to explode with sexually-enticing fuzzyness but I am stuck at school for a couple more hours and all I can think about is plugging it in and breaking the walls of my house down with fuzz, fuzzzz and more fuzzzzzzzzzzz. I love fuzz but, for the moment, fml. This is what I look like now  and this is what i will look like later        :!!!:

soooooooo I tried out my silver fuzzhuger with red font and it is absolutely awesome!!! The hype about this pedal is all true! Tom you have a very special gift; keep doin whatcha doin :)* !!!!!! I got lost in a cloud of fuzz and loved every second of it. I already gave someone a headache due to this pedal and to me that is an ultimate win. I just got a laney AOR 50 watt all tube head and the low end is tremendously crushing and with the HUGER it melts my face to a pile of mush. I am going to experiment stacking some pedals and experimenting with some different sounds. I broke a string while I was rocking out and I barely every break strings. I guess the HUGER inspired me to rock harder than usual!!! I was playing some stooges songs and then I downtuned to B and played some riffs and was surprised at how articulate the mound of fuzzy soundwaves were. The notes of chords seemed to blend together in a beautiful display of madness. I can't wait to use this beast in a live setting and finally get my mid-scooping, semi doodie-ish big muff (although I do love it when I'm rocking by myself) off my board! I also love how this pedal is so light and seemingly indestructible. I am nothing but :yay: ! Keep it raw y'all! And again Tom, you rule!
