New for 2012! BASS BLOOM

Post by FuzzHugger »

The Bass Bloom is finally here!!!

WHAT?? A tasty bass-tuned Algal Bloom, complete with a smooth clean blend (and other bass-loving options!). The circuit has been gently tweaked for more low end, while retaining the sexy Algal Bloom tone you love! High bandwidth clean blend lets you gently open up the Algal Bloom or totally add some big clean to the mix! It's a tasty take on the Algal Bloom, for bass or electric guitar!

Also available in standard Bloom graphic:

Great, now I have to sell more stuff... I have been waiting for a bass friendly Bloom. Does the 2nd footswitch cause any fundamental volume drop going from full on Bloom to mild overdrive or is it just decrease in distorted tone?

The Algal Bloom is really overdriven and doesn't really need further stacking. The less-driven mode pulls a lot of gain out of the Algal Bloom fuzz and bypasses the Bloom control.

On the dual footswitch AB, one footswitch turns on the lower-gain fuzz mode (Bloom bypass), and both footswitches turn on the Algal Bloom. Makes more switching sense this way.

No. There might be a slight perceived increase in volume when you go from less-driven-fuzz-mode to standard Algal Bloom (as higher gain / more body can seem like more volume), but it's just the right amount--so going to the less-driven fuzz is just a decrease in distorted tone.

:excellent: Sounds like the always-on bit of grit until it's face-melting time pedal that my board needs! It's off to sell some stuff to procure the necessary funds.

I remember there being a toggle option for lows/mids boostage before for an extra $25. Will this be similar?

Similar. I announced the toggle for low/mids, but am not quite ready to offer them at this point...so it could turn into a knob.
