what would you like to see next????????????? and rpm

Post by autopilot »

:excellent: (inspired by the devi topic)

think this as some sort of research, there could be a chance of the pedal could become a part of the copilot line and there's an odd more than one could become.
restrictions:
No delay pedal, due i think the digi market offers tons of great full featured delays (dd7, dl4, hardwire, digidelay) at sexy prices and the analog counterpart also has nice offering (616, 919, etc)
polyphonic octaves - not yet, i just started taking c+ classes so it might take me a year or 2 to become handy with dsp stuff.

lets get this started

here's what i have in line

giving the final touches:

white noise pedal with external gate control option (arrow)

breadboard:
Tremolo with sample and hold and triangle waveform (hoping to add square wave option)
octave drone (gonky/droney/ring moddish ) octave sounds with external jack to use external sources to

planning notebook
variable octave fuzz, thinking going a couple octave range up
PWM fuzz with built option of lfo
somekind of lowpass filter

Oh man, octave drone. Any clips from the breadboard?
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

how about an envelope controlled expression pedal. You plug into it, adjust the sensitivity and attack, and plug the pedal into an exp. input

Recently, someone suggested a chorus that wasn't sine wave.

haha no one has really third'd an idea. Perhaps we should grasp one idea and expand on it instead of pioneering our own. Most the Copilot stuff has two or three kinds of effects in it...so maybe that's something to think about. I'm going with the Doc's Pitch Modulator

i also like the pitch modulator idea.

The idea is to do a pedal per month, so each 30 days work on a new design (that's why RPM - inspired by the rpm challenge) from feb to september.

I already have some interesting thoughts regarding the pitch modulator, the easy path is to do some kind of modulated delay via sample and hold to get the pseudo pitch, but i had an interesting idea/aproach, combining the octave drone and shifting randomly the frequency of the incoming signal could add some interesting results (i already tried to reproduce in my mind and my brain cells also think it has potential), i need to work on the frequency shifting because i want to have it externally controlled, so you can plug a guitar and bass, and have one varies the pitch of the other, or i could go with both options.

After this weeks ends i'll be posting which 3 ideas i'll be doing in feb, march and april.

the envelope controlled expression pedal is cool, but as now it doesnt look to me it will appeal to wide audience, also there arent many pedals with exp jacks.

Analogue harmonizer - can you be more specific in the sounds (i assume octave ups, downs and the options of going with intervals 4th, 5th, etc)

Envelope vibrato - true pitch vibrato or fender vibrato?

octave drone - no clips it still very raw.

I was going to recommend the Memory Boy/Deluxe to the Doc, because the modulation can be switched between square and sine wave. I'm not sure if the delay can be zeroed and be used as straight modulation...but food for thought I suppose.

Anything you do, keep up the expression jack galore!

-I'd like to see an eight bit sampler, somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds, with some way of degrading the sound.
-A radio pedal, with a blend control, and some kind of fuzzzzz.

and +1 for the sample and hold pitch modulator.
