polypus at large

Tue Jul 19, 2016 6:14 pm

I was thinking of doing a small run of a polypus with built in 5 step sequencer for the rate of the lfo (tap multiplier), the sequencer will scroll via the internal tap clock/osc or you can scroll hitting a footswich, also a tone control and drive/gain knob, plus the vol and mix, external tap sync and probably other stuff i'm still trying to fit like sync the gain to the lfo and perhaps the tone, what you think?

I am so sad that I had to sell the custom Polypus you made me, so, this is VERY relevant to my interests.

it will have some changes (vs your polypus and the current and previous polypus), more headroom and it will be more smooth in the smooth waves and more choppy on the hard waves (square), i'll be adding the option for ramp up and down (ramp down sounds like pure spacemen 3 chop), instead of modulating the tone and gain, i''ll go to modulate the depth, and have different waveforms (going x1 of the tap), so a sine wave will be modulating the depth while main lfo is in ramp up going at x3 of the tap, and when you add the sequencer you could do some interesting patterns

super interested in this, how much would it cost?

In august i will be doing a run of 10, $200 on barebone silk screened case and $220 etched case, hopefully in 10 days i will do a video of it.

Time to sell some pedals then. But I'm most certainly in, provided I take care of my situation with PayPal.

Fuck YEAH! I'm in. I gotta sell something to help offset the cost, but count me in! What are the graphics going to be like?

Yeah I'm interested about the layout. :snax:

I vote for an alien octopus as the graphic.

Adam - is there any way to implement an averaging feature with the tap tempo? Or a re-sync feature? I find it really difficult to get the tempo perfect with just two taps. It's not so much of a problem with the Gryo but for super square tremolo chop I find it has to be crazy tight, and averaging 4 taps, or tapping once to resync would be helpful.

What enclosure size are you looking at for this?

it will be 2 taps, mostly because it will run 3 clocks (sequencer, LFO and the LFO modulating the LFO), since the 3 clocks will be in 3 different waveshapes, at least in my code level (the average of 4 taps) it will be hard to keep the 3 running without unsyncing in a matter of time (15 seconds later). Case it will be 5.5''x 4.5''.
