So, this thing looks + sounds super rad, at least on the Youtube demos I've been able to find of it (the Arrow Airwaves looks super cool, as well). Anyone have anything more in depth to say about them? Are they still being made? Who is Baby Ma?

I sent the Swedish Dinosaur one... It is an Awesome Noise Pedal...

This is 100% accurate...

Yeah dude. Totally on the fence about whether to hunt down one of the Airwaves or the standard version. I feel like the Airwaves is a little more versatile, but I'm such a sucker for no-input pedz.

the arrow is always running no input wng

arrow airwaves is a triggered wng (when there's input sound there is white noise) and you can mix the instrument signal.

I've been thinking of doing some changes to it, i think to both add a invert trigger, (so the arrow will accept input) so you can have wng when there's no sound, an normal signal flow when there's sound, and have the option to have it's own fx loop so you can go from 2 different tones, probably to be executed at best will need some control of the trigger/decay, so you can go from a quick burst to a full blast

Yeah I think for me, looking at the circuits and trying to decide which one I would go for, the differences are significant enough that I wouldn't be happy with one or the other. Having a standalone, tunable WNG is something I've been looking for for a while, but the idea of blending a layer of noise to prexisting pedal combinations and sound sources is astonishingly appealing -- especially since I'm almost certainly going to be using it in a "tabletop" fashion. In that regard i think an invert trigger would be astonishingly useful.

Not sure if this is possible, but I'd like the "pitch" of the white noise to go higher, to beyond normal human hearing, so that you just have a wall of toneless static. Sometimes I find it challenging to find a frequency for the white noise that works for what I'm playing. I also never use more than about 25% of the volume on the wng haha. And while we are wishing... it would be cool to introduce some sort of random variation to the envelope that the static follows, so that the whole thing sounds more broken. Let me know if that makes no sense :)

same here, but you never know if someday you need to blast your neighbors with white noise and oscillating delay. yeah i feel you about the crackle, i was considering something like that to get more a 3d feel/movement of the spectrum, and the going even higher and then return like the waves crashing.

DoS - yes, i was playing the other day, and thought that it will be more wicked the invert thing, since you could have some modulation with the white noise and then playing over the top and then stop and get the noise and battle on and on with it. and also use betwen sets while you tune or change the settings on the pedalboard

What about instead of a straight invert you do ducking for the wng, with a pot to control how much lower in volume the wng gets when you play?

But yeah, that is totally what I was getting at, with the 3d feel.

Maybe combine it with a glitch tremolo...

it could be a a second volume knob, so you can set the volume of the wng while you are playing and another vol when you arent, it passed my mind the glitching trem thing

That's a great way to do that: sort of like a pair of dry/wet volumes but "input/no input" instead.

The more I think about it, the more I like it!

another thing is that they both are on the harsh side, so some extra controls to add more flexibility is an option

I think the harshness is what drew me to it, originally, but maybe a high pass filter? Hard to tell from youtube demos and laptop speakers.
