Ring modulator for active basses (help)

Just wondering if any bassists out there that use active pickups have any recommendations for a solid ring modulator with expression pedal capabilities. I tried the Electro Harmonix unit but didnt really dig it & I see the Copilot brand has some options. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Im playing an american Fender Deluxe Active 4 string.)
