Clean tone distortion/clipping with Gyroscope

Postby culturejam » Thu Feb 17, 2011 7:32 pm

I just received a used Gyroscope from a fellow forum member. I love what it does (great design!), but anything more than very light picking results in some nasty clipping. It doesn't sound like any of the clips I've heard. It happens even with the pedal volume very low.

Any thoughts on how to remedy this?

Thanks

I usually keep the Depth and Resonance close to their maxed out positions. I still get some clipping. I think this is by design.

The first 30 seconds of this is "clean" with gyro and nothing else:

I can get it fairly clean with single coils and lower output from a preceding pedal. My Hog can lower output. You could dial back the guitar volume maybe?
With Hog, no clipping:

I almost sold mine, but I just don't think I can part with it since it's such a unique pedal.

Hmmm. Okay, maybe that's how it's supposed to sound. The youtube clips I watched seemed to be cleaner in my memory, but now when I go back, they sound dirty as well. That kinda sucks, because the clipping isn't pretty. It's like almost farty sounding.

it will clip with very hot pickups, try moving later on your chain, if it still clips, i could have a look on it if you can send it back, anything please let me know,
