haha, well, I did have a brief and powerful infatuation with that overdrive/clang/screaming stuff, it was really hot when I started hitting the clubs around here. I certainly did my time with Built to Spill as a young man. That riff was certainly born of that, but I couldn't sing you a single one of those songs, or play one, just my "sound alike" riff.

it's also that DADAAE tuning, I think

I've tried it out a couple times and everything I've played sounded extra melancholy
