THANKS!
This review made my day.
And yeah, I shot the bass demo, but havent started cutting or anything yet. Same session/cameras/amps as the new Spack Vibes demo.

:thumb: glad to make Your day, Your pedal made mine.

Mmmmm, might the Spack sessions include by any chance some clips perhaps for the Surrender Dorothy, too?

SO, any progress? :) I wish I can record and post a short clip of a nice arpeggio squeal noise I found from it.

Okay, the end of the world is surely upon us, because Aen has released one fatal droning device.

I've experimented a bit with Zhago now. Can't really play the bass much at the moment (I have a medical condition and a numb hand, and wait to get to the neurosurgery) BUT I've done a plenty of pedalcore noise experimentation. Zhago was a cool little pedal to start with... and it has showed some unsuspected qualities as a noise instrument.

Since there's very little demos of Zhago thus far, I'll share some of my findings.

Here:

the sub-octave droning in this piece, that's Zhago :whoa: :omg:  running in a feedback loop, echo comes from Boss Space Echo RE-20 pedal. No additional octave fx or EQ added. Nope.

It's not an octave down fuzz but when it gets in the feedbackloop - well, crank it and there it is. Tweak it on the fly and You've got the drone organ that SOUNDS LIKE THOUSAND DEATHS, to quote DarkAxel. Actually, the sought after DOD Meat Box that IS a sub-harmonizer on its own can't do much better in the feedbackloop, this thing is EVIL.

:hello: Carrion birds definitely was the target sound for that. Screams of terror also, as the piece goes on. The sreams would have been easy to rip from any eurothrash gore flick, and I have recorded crows and other birds with friends BUT I settled for the suggestive sounds that got close enough. And it was cool to be able to do all the sounds by pedals only. That track is actually BitMangler with starve control and some mods, played through the Boss RE-20.

Anyway - Zhago in the feedbackloop is HUGE! It sounds like the tape speed had been dropped to half. :whoa: :animal: It's so going to stay in either TBD or Spectacular Aenima loop.

Does this pedal have lots of sustain and bass response?

It sounds great with humbuckers, but I don't *love* it on bass. But it will depend on what sound you are going for. If you like the Steve Albini (lack of) bass style, you would dig the zhago. The sustain is there, for sure though.
