Bought one last week. Kills especially with an expression pedal.

Checking in to say I still fucking love this pedal a year later. My first dedicated filter pedal and it sure isn't going anywhere. I've gotten into a lot of filters since this one, but none tickle my cilia the way this beautiful resonant beast does.
^ Also +1 for exp use. Either one makes for some magic during buildups in a band setting (running the LFO rate higher, or opening up a LPF with some LFO modulation around the centerpoint)

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)

I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

I made it into a eurorack filter instead! moauhaahooo - fucking perfect for that!!

And it was actually pretty easy! Just scary to take out that smaller circuit turning 9v to europower. Gonna do the Twin Stags as well and atleast open the new ones if/when I buy them and check if its possible, meheheh. As they become so fat as eurorack modules its not really space efficient.. Looks cool as fuck tho.

Im hyped on some new dwarfcraft modules baaaah

So since I received the Happiness, it's quickly become my favorite filter I think ever. I use it almost every time I play and am finding more and more uses for it.

I wanted to ask a few others here what they do with theirs? Just out of curiosity.

I find I like to use mine with a slow steady sweep that creates a woosh type of effect similar to a phaser with the rate all the way down. That is my absolute favorite setting on phasers and has been for probably a decade now. So to hear a filter like this do it, get me all kinds of happy. I put mine almost at the end of my chain to process all the other boxes through the filter and create a smashed up texture.

With the 1/8th jacks, I've found using a Lighting Wave Mico Stomp or an EVA creates some awesome fun. The Micro will open and close that envelope swoosh, so I can hold the stomp down until I want to get that closed in sound. It's kind of like using an expression pedal through the lfo out. Pretty fun.

What do you guys do?

Also, thinking again about doing an almost all Dwarfcraft board. It's been a while since I had this thought but I'm finding myself going towards the sound I'm getting from my Dwarfcraft boxes than others.

haha sweet, man!
So I use mine largely in the studio, lots of expression controlled sweeps, but then live I have a "wub wub" section in a song where I rock the LFO rate expression, and I kind of go all around the meter of the song.
And then, of course I use it for tabletop electronic stuff :)

Most of the time I use mine with an expression pedal for filter sweeping. The rate expression is great for ramping up or down for transitions and what not.

you can get some really cool stuff to happen if you use it at a really fast rate with delay after it, especially if the delay is not completely symmetrical, running into crazy fuzz of whatever you like. used this a bunch on our last album, sounds like helicopter blades that are about to crash and burn. I love using it slow like you already mentioned too. Those were the two ways that i found it the most useful for myself in my recording situation

Been spending more and more time with my Happiness. I hardly understand half it does, I never seem to do (especially) with filters, but I love how it sounds. This is great little thread for inspiration. Keep it up everyone!
